July 2013 - APCOA Parking (UK) has secured a new three-year contract to provide parking services at Portsmouth’s harbour’s award-winning multi-storey car park.
APCOA successfully renewed its term with Portsmouth City Council until October 2016 (with the option to extend for a further two years) to manage the 516 passenger MSCP facility off George Byng Way, which complements the popular ‘Park and Sail’ service for visitors to the south coast.
Since acquiring the contract from Central Parking Systems (CPS) in 2007, APCOA’s flexible approach to changes at the International Port has already given rise to a new pre-booking system, along with a new valet parking service to accommodate more high-end cruise-ship business into Portsmouth harbour.
APCOA’s relationship with port users and operators alike has resulted in a fruitful working relationship with the City Council, who has owned the Ferry Port since 1839. To date, the Hampshire Port it is the most successful municipal port in the UK, and is served by passenger and freight ferries sailing to the Continent and the Channel Islands.
