APCOA donates € 10,000 to action medeor e.V. for medical aid in Northern Iraq

Stuttgart, 15 December 2016 – This Christmas, APCOA PARKING Group is donating a total of 10,000 euros to the German medical aid organisation action medeor e.V., the largest medical aid organisation in Europe. The organisation operates as the world’s emergency medical supplier and has been working with local partners in 140 countries to provide healthcare and medical aid for more than 50 years.

APCOA’s donation specifically supports medical aid deliveries to Northern Iraq. The Debaga Camp for refugees within Iraq was opened in 2015, and currently accommodates in excess of 30,000 people. The camp’s mobile clinic represents the only access the region’s refugees have to proper healthcare. With its donation, APCOA is supporting action medeor in the provision of urgently needed medicines, such as painkillers and antibiotics, which will enable the treatment of chronic conditions and guarantee the provision of medical aid to women during pregnancy.

“APCOA is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities. With our donation we want to play our part in guaranteeing the provision of basic medical aid to refugees in the region,” said Philippe Op de Beeck, CEO of APCOA PARKING Group. The donation made by APCOA will secure the provision of medical aid to at least 5,000 refugees for three months.
